Study Art, Design and Performance at the University of Portsmouth
We believe in improving people's lives and our understanding of each other through thoughtful and challenging creative teaching and learning. We support all students, researchers and staff to explore and experiment as part of a community and to identify their strengths and individual style as artists, designers and makers. Exciting project-based and collaborative courses give our students the skillsets to become highly employable. 95% of our graduates are in work or further study within 6 months of graduating, across industry, public sector and by starting their own companies.
BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile Design (UCAS W990)
On this multi-award-winning course, you will bring your creative and original ideas to life using industry level facilities. At the University of Portsmouth, we adopt an approach to teaching fashion and textile design combined that encourages innovation, self-awareness and critical thinking. We recognise individual strengths and develop confident, knowledgeable professionals. Embedded in our course curriculum, the values of sustainable and ethical design principles are fundamental. Through creative exchange and enterprise projects, our students develop communication, leadership and collaboration skills. By applying creative and innovative research methods and developing a deep knowledge of traditional and digital making skills authentic and original work is catalysed as our students push the boundaries of what fashion and textile design is now and for the future.
