Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samantha(MKSSS), Pune, India is the parent organization of School of Fashion Technology (SOFT) . MKSSS is a Public Charitable Trust started in 1896 and has been committed for “Women Empowerment through Education”.
This 125 year old Samstha was founded by great visionary and ardent Social worker Bharat Ratna, highest Civilian Award, Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve to provide shelter to destitute women providing Education in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Nursing, Arts, Commerce and Science and Vocational streams having more than 30,000 students taking Education in-house across 64 units .
We take great pleasure to introduce ourselves as one of the premier Institute of India offering Fashion Education at Bachelor and Post Graduate level since 1998.
MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology started in 1998 in technical collaborations with National Institute of Fashion Technology for Undergraduate Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Design. In 2000, School of Fashion Technology started the Degree programs in affiliation with S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Mumbai. In 2016, School of Fashion Technology got associated with Academia Costume e Moda, Rome, Italy.
We are also a regular member of the most prestigious International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI).

MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology is the only Fashion Institution which is awarded the "A" Grade for Academic Excellence by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). NAAC is an organization that asses and accredits higher education institutions in India.

Fashion Design curriculum begins with the 1St year as SOFT Foundation which covers all the fundamentals and basic introduction to design building
Learners will progress to the second year of Pearson BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Fashion & Textile aimed to develop vision and ideas, exploring areas of fashion and textiles. Learners will study CAD, design development, pattern making garment manufacturing with industrial methods.
Progression to third year of Pearson Higher National Diploma (HND) in Fashion will make learners independent for research and design projects, and also encourage exploring and experimenting on innovative pattern making and garment cutting techniques. Upon course completion, learners will be well-versed in the many aspects of fashion design and production.Â
On successful completion of the Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate and Level 5 Higher National Diploma, Learner will be aiming to go on to employment or can progress to a final year of the bachelor’s degree in the known eligible Universities of United Kingdom’s (UK).

Digital Design is a specialized domain of fashion studies that enables students in acquiring communication skills relevant to the fashion and lifestyle industry.
The program includes consolidated course study associated with different areas such as advertising, public relations, graphic design, fashion journalism, visual merchandising, space design, styling, photography, display, exhibit, creative writing, interaction design, new media design, etc.
