About Me

HI,IM XIAOJIE A GRADUATE FROM BEIJING INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY

As a person who loves life, I want to record every moment of my life through my works. By doing through, I want learn how to pay attention to interesting details and at the same time feel joy and happiness from my work. I hope that my work can make people happy and relax.

In today’s generation of visual culture, design with playful feature gradually becomes a new popular trend. And being influenced by this culture, I have been exploring how to make interesting designs for a long time. In this graduation design project, I cooperated with my classmate Hu Kaining who majoring in Engineering. Together with her help, we incorporated interesting physical phenomenon omobro cinema into fashion design, hoping to design visual dynamic clothing with wearable interactive experience.

INSPIRATION

THE APPLICATION OF OMOBRO CINEMA IN FASHION DESIGN

This design was inspired by Eadweard Muybridge, an English photographer who explored a lot in moving image. The great amount of moving animals and people in his photographs made me feel the rapid change of the nature, and thus every moments in our life deserved to be recorded. Based on the human body, I caught the dynamic change of every muscle as well as the whole body in the process of pattern design. I froze people’s wonderful moments and finally made it a omobro cinema.

Because the clothing featured with the concept of “A Piece of Cloth”, I added many delicate designs to the interaction between people and clothing. For example, I combined the omobro cinema and clothing to build a relationship that connected people and clothing in a relaxing and pleasant way. And this design finally created a unique interaction between people and clothing.

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

THE APPLICATION OF OMOBRO CINEMA IN FASHION DESIGN

Firstly, through the collection and sorting of omobro cinema related literature, the imaging principle of Moire stripe animation was explored, the graphic printing experiment was designed, and the key parameters affecting the animation quality were explored, including the relationship between the frame number of animation , grating spacing and grating transmission gap width, so as to find the parameters for forming the best visual effect. Secondly, it explores the expression forms of Morie stripe animation between fabrics, divides fabrics into surface layer and inner layer, and focuses on how the surface layer expresses the effect of grating plate and the material of printed fabric of the inner layer, as well as how to select materials between the surface layer and the inner layer to achieve the best effect. Finally, the dynamic omobro cinema is transformed and expressed in costume design, and its feasibility is further explored. If you want to see more animated videos, please visit my Youtube.
