About Me

I'm wang Yifan, a graduate of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.

I am always interested in one piece of clothing transformed into different styles. In the four years of college, I did a lot of designs about one piece of clothing transformed into different styles. When a piece of clothing can be transformed into many forms and can adapt to the various needs of people, this piece of clothing becomes our partner.

My graduation design is more inclined towards ready-to-wear design rather than conceptual design. I prefer to make clothes that can be worn daily in normal life. They are not so gorgeous, but when you look closely, you will find them very interesting.

INSPIRATION

My inspiration comes from a small shirt folded out of paper.

This is a series of thoughts triggered by origami. What does origami clothing look like on a person? Can the space relationship between clothing and the human body be used as a reference for the space between origami clothing and the human body? Can the folded corners of origami provide the body with the loose clothing needed for daily activities? How to design a two-dimensional plane origami to make it more suitable when worn on the human body? These are very interesting questions.

When the origami derived clothing is worn on the human body, there will be a lot of space between the clothing and the human body. When the space is large enough and in the right position, it can provide relaxation for the daily activities of the human body. What's interesting is that if these loose quantities are skillfully designed, they can be used to make the clothing present many shapes on the human body. So it's possible to achieve one piece of clothing transformed into different styles.

DETAIL

This is a dress that can be used as trousers or as a coat.

When it's used as a coat, it's made up of two parts, connected by a lace up. When it is used as pants, only half of them can be used as a separate pair of pants, and it is also very convenient to wear and take off.

My name is Wang Yifan. I am from China and I am obsessed with one piece of clothing transformed into different styles.
