INSPIRATION
I have lived my whole life in a city and felt like I have been brainwashed by the square shape, being all surrounded by square buildings. This idea came from Antony Gormley who thought about how minds live in bodies and how bodies live in clothes, buildings, and cities.
Whenever I look up, all I can see are big, tall buildings. I felt so small and powerless. So I got inspired by the power icon from the 1930s, Marlene Dietrich who speaks for herself and does not care about what people think, in order to be strong like her.
DETAIL
I see this building across my school from my classroom everyday. I got inspired by the window shapes being symmetrical. I used a wool sponge bonding fabric to cut symmetrical lines and rolled up a pvc fabric and ran them through the cuts.
