About Me

HI,I’M Wu Jiaqing A GRADUATE FROM BIFT.

I love Chinese traditional culture so much because it is closely related to my life.I live in Suzhou, the ancient city of culture, and when i was a child, I would learn Chinese Calligraphy and Chinese Painting in spare time. So my design is based on my hometown life.

In my college study, I learned how to make Chinese traditional culture in a better way presented in fashion design . I hope my work of design will make more and more people understand and love Chinese traditional culture , willing to dip into it. The inheritance of traditional culture should not only stay in the extension of patterns and styles, but also use the connotation of traditional culture to give new life to clothing.I hope that the public's impression of Jiangnan is both a small bridge over the flowing stream and a sense of grandeur and neatness.

INSPIRATION

MY SOURCE OF INSPIRATION IS MR.WU GUANZHONG’S ABSTRACT INK PAINTING WHICH PAINTS JIANGNAN

The combination of dots, lines and surfaces reflects the connotation of abstract ink painting and interprets the brand new image of Jiangnan in the form of fabric reconstruction. The design of fabric presents a sense of step by step. My design gradually forms abstract stripping from the concrete combination of form and color, and finally returns to invisibility, so as to express the design concept from being to nothing and returning to the initial stage.

What I pursue is a minimalist layout design and avoid stacking complicated decorations. So I will reconstruct the pattern of Mr. Wu Guanzhong's abstract ink painting with my own understanding. The clothing version draws on the curved shape of the paddy field. The overall color feeling pursues black and white collision, black and white gradient, adding a small amount of bright colors for embellishment

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

USE NEEDL MACHINE FOR FABRIC RECONSTRUCTION TO IMITATES THE MOTTLED SUZHOU’S WALLS AFTER THE RAIN

The effect of combining fabric with itself or fabric with wool by using a needle machine can express the free splashing points, the sense of undulating lines and thick and textured blocks. This effect of the mottled Suzhou’s walls after the rain can be achieved by combining the jacquard cotton fabric as the base material and compositing with satin Organza. Look4's fabric is like a dense pile of calligraphy piled together, the random effect of the needle machine can make the fabric effect more diversified.

I AM COMMITTED TO PRESENTING THE ELEMENTS OF CHINESE TRADITIONAL CULTURE IN THE FORM OF FABRIC RECONSTRUCTION, SO THAT THE PUBLIC CAN UNDERSTAND CHINESE TRADITIONAL CULTURE WITH A BRAND-NEW FEELING.
