About Me

Hey! I'm a 2022 Graduate from UWE Fashion Communication & Freelancer

I am a trans non-binary multi-disciplined creative, confident in graphic design, styling, production, editing &a photography. My practice is focused being vibrant & bold, while injecting a sense of humour, surrealism & queerness into every project I create, both personal & professional.

Exploring queerness & identity is a big part of all the personal work I create. I believe that it should feed into all that I do, even when the focus is on something else, because it is such an integral part of who I am as an artist. My work has looked at themes including gender dysphoria, reclaiming problematic media, internet culture & mental health. I take a multimedia & maximalist approach in all of my projects, never restricting myself to just one medium. Beyond graduating I only want to expand my skill set & points of reference further, working towards a freelance career.

INSPIRATION

My final major project is a publication focused on showcasing art from queer & trans creatives

DRENCHED IN SWEAT Magazine is focused on celebrating outsider art from creatives identifying as queer, transgender, non-binary & femme. An Outspoken & unapologetic attitude is at the core of this project with the choice of artists reflecting this. The work included isn’t worried about being palatable or accessible, its about being raw & sincere in its discussion of queerness in its many forms & contexts. The publication was nominated for the Terry Mansfield Digital Publication Award.

The artists featured work in photography, styling, painting, digital illustration, digital collage, sculpture, collage, mixed media, poetry, modelling, performance & tattoo, exploring subjects including sex work, gender dysphoria and euphoria, mental health, heritage & technology. Across the 100-page publication is work from over 20 different people based in the UK, US & Canada, as well as my own work on the subjects of gender identity & reclaiming problematic fashion.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

As well as looking for freelance work, I'm looking to continue to create projects under my own brand

I want DRENCHED IN SWEAT to act as a collective name for all of my personal projects, for example, future physical products such as clothing, I also want to act as an independent publisher, supporting artists in the creation of products that showcase their work, offering to them my skills and experience in the design, production and distribution process of making publications. I want to focus on expanding my horizons when it comes to the mediums & formats I use to showcase my work, whether thats in the form of experimental publications, exhibitions, art objects or video content, while always coming back to my core ethos behind how I create. taking a very maximalist approach to design, to be defiant & challenge the conventions of the creative industry, and being sincere, inclusive and honest in my output, will always be at the forefront of my practice.
