About Me

Hi I'm Wiktoria a dedicated and aiming high graduate from UWL

Creative individual specializing in womenswear design. Fascinated by exploring any mediums old and new in order to push boundaries and create unique and unforgettable garments.

From as long as I can remember I have been drawn to fashion, I have always been mostly excited by the contrasts and quirky unforgettable yet timeless pieces. I want to create clothes that woman feel confident and special in.

INSPIRATION

Marzanna is a folk tale I decided to translate into garments

Inspiration for this collection came partly from my own heritage, I decided to pursue this idea to showcase culture of my country in a more interesting and contemporary way. To be able to do that I decided to mix the old traditional folk (peasant like) elements of the culture of Poland with something modern that also excites me a lot which is athleisure fashion with the focus laid on snowboarding.

As traditional folk craft derives from peoples connection to nature I informed my research as well as my design by some nature inspired developments, mainly in the area of print. The silhouettes have been partly informed by the construction of the traditional folk costume and partly by the currently trending winter wear.

DETAIL

The focus lays in the opposites

Through the collection I wanted to explore and pair the stark opposites, this is something that fascinates me for a long time I think it's quite interesting to try and find a way in which two completely opposite ideas or aesthetics work together in creating a cohesive body of work. I tried to mix and match tailored elements with more relaxed silhouette. In each garment I tried to include elements be it a pocket or a finish on the hem that relate to the opposite theme, giving the wearer the opportunity to discover something new each time they look in the mirror.

The world of reality has its limits, the world of imagination is boundless. Jean Jacque Rousseau
