About Me

Image Making and Creative Direction

As an image maker my work focuses on the digital side of photography. Exploring themes of naturalistic, minimalism and monochrome portrait Fashion Photography. I am inspired by the simplistic and natural approaches to photography in the style I create. Showing emotion, self-expression and narrative within my subjects putting that at the forefront of my work.

The message within my imagery work has always been to focus on the more naturalistic sides of photography. I think this has recently impacted my work while living at home in Cornwall and being so openly surrounded by the open space and feeling so free. I feel that relating my own personal experiences and thoughts within my work contribute to making my creative and innovative work and narratives.

INSPIRATION

Self-expression & Portrait Fashion Photography

My initial inspirations through including themes of self-expression within my work started around the first lockdown period as it brought out many different emotions within different people. I wanted to portray this within my work and closely touch on aspects of mental health in our current situations. Expressing these emotions and thoughts through creative Fashion Photography and Styling.

I then presented this through my work within a self directed project at home named 'something for your mind' that focused on how our thoughts can consume us and expressing these thoughts and emotions creatively throughout my publication. Similar themes also continued into an imagined campaign for 'Calvin Klein Together' showing that we are not alone when experiencing these particular emotions. I like to create work that can have a meaning to others while also reflecting on more personal topics in my work.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I portrayed my personal values through inspired campaign imagery.

In my imagined campaign for Calvin Klein Together I focused on the impacts and emotions experienced within lockdown. As Calvin Klein as a brand focuses on the self-love and empowerment of their consumers I felt it was appropriate to portray my love of self-expression when shooting this campaign imagery. The project includes detailed imagery of subjects shot within the comfort of their own homes and surroundings, talking to them about how they handle their emotion experiences while being so cut off from the world. The campaign also featured a one minute video with the theme of expression at the forefront of the video.

I present the natural elements that we are surrounded by in daily life, capturing the real, raw and more vulnerable sides to my subjects, embraced by our real emotions.
