About Me
I’m Tyler Bodys, a Fashion Photography graduate from Southampton.
I was always the weird artsy kid, finding art and fashion continuously fascinating. Fashion is the art of living. Photography is the vessel which captures that. After finding photography, it was a way to merge my love of fashion and art into something which was new and exciting.
Creating a fantasy, whether grungy and dirty or overly elaborate, I love experimenting and toying with numerous styles and genres Having a passion for the grunge movement from the 1990s, Using the vernacular style, merging it with the anti-fashion movement, continuously exploring and coming back to for inspiration. Also, having a visceral reaction to music. Whilst listening, the cerebral imagery produced allows me to visualise shoots through the use of music being the driving force and inspirational tool.
INSPIRATION
Narcissism: the pursuit of gratification from vanity or admiration of one's idealised self-image.
As artists, narcissism is exhibited through the representation of self identity within visual means. The representation of self, through being subjected to being the art, or presenting yourself as the vessel of the art is inherently narcissistic. Through my self portraits, there is an exhibition of my own narcissism, making commentary on the inherent narcissism which artists possess, whilst also using myself as the subject of the photographs to present my narcissism too.

Self Obsession
Often perceived as negative, narcissism can allow for a confidence within yourself that is unmatched. Narcissism is something which has invited me and drew me in, into its icy embrace: loving and cold. I am someone who has a detachment from oneself. I am a performative individual who alters themself for safety and serenity. I am self obsessed but self hating.
