About Me

Hi I'm Sophia, a Fashion & Textiles graduate

Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to be a designer. I have always had a love for fabrics and using them to envision and design garments. My final collection has allowed me to explore that passion for materials and designing even further.

After graduating I plan to build experience working as a fashion and textiles designer for high street brands that have inspired me over the years. I want to continue to design and create as that is where my passion lies.

INSPIRATION

This collection is inspired by retro-futurism and understanding how technology affects us.

Technology affects us all and turns us into robot like beings. I have explored this idea combined with a retro-futuristic aesthetic to create a collection that is completely out of this world. Metallic and chrome materials carefully handpicked to illuminate the sci-fi feel emitted by the collection. Silhouettes inspired by late 90's and early 2000's style clothing with 1960's sci-fi elements.

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Eyelets set out in different forms and shapes to mirror the sharp points.

Sharp points and metal details taking inspiration from iconic sci-fi 1960's looks, such as the iconic movie 'Barbarella'. Materials that reproduce metallic spaceship surfaces such as silver leatherette and metal chainmail with holographic shine, that translate a robotic feel. Eyelets representing robot bolts that give an insight into my print underneath. Although abstract the print illustrating the wiring inside of a robot.
