About Me

Hi, I'm Saskia a Fashion Buying Graduate from Ravensbourne University

I’m a fashion buying and brand management graduate from the UK who specialises in both the business and creative side of the fashion industry. I have keen interests in sustainability, trend forecasting, market research, and branding. Within my work and previous projects, I always aim to make careful considerations for both people and planet.

During my time at University, I became passionate about sustainability, inclusivity, and diversity. Within my third year at University, I recognised a gap in the market for a swimwear brand that combined wellbeing, specialist materials, sustainability, and size inclusivity. I embarked on a journey looking at competitor brands and what they were failing to achieve and incorporate, in which I found a niche to work upon a swimwear brand that was carefully considered with the consumers wellbeing in mind, combining holistic health approaches and being kind to both people and planet.

INSPIRATION

My initial inspiration came from the Impact of Covid-19 on public health and wellbeing.

Covid-19 has a huge and undeniable impact on consumer health and wellbeing in terms of elevated levels of stress and anxiety. The health and wellbeing market had rapid growth rates with consumers prioritising and finding new ways to increase their health. After Isolation people were keen to explore nature and escape with new adoptions of wild swimming and cold sea swimming on the rise. These key aspects inspired me to create a swimwear brand called wyld waters that boosts health and wellbeing.

wyld waters aims to elevate consumer experience in the water. I wanted to create a brand for my FMP that would genuinely help people and be considered throughout the whole supply chain with both the consumer and planet in mind. I carried out extensive research into factories and suppliers who were innovative, eco-conscious and responsible that would align with my brand goals.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I designed a CAD Range Plan that would be suitable for both in and out the water boosting wellbeing.

I designed a CAD Range Plan for my FMP that considered both the consumer and planet’s wellbeing in mind with swimwear that can be worn both in and out the water as well as swimwear accessories such as a Jacket suited for cold sea swimming and a Sarong catered for holiday and beachwear. All swimwear products combine sustainable and specialist materials that boost wellbeing, healing, soothe and moisturise the skin. The main component in wyld waters swimwear is Regenerated Nylon which is made with a closed loop making it infinitely recyclable, re-mouldable and reusable as well as having qualities such as quick drying, anti-odour, and moisture wicking elements made from plastic ocean waste and fishnets. Wyld waters also combines extracts such as Aloe Vera and Vitamin E that provide calm and alleviate stress and anxiety as well as being kind and comforting on the skin.
