Hi, I'm Sacha and I am a Fashion Design student at Nottingham Trent University. I have a keen eye for detail and am passionate about pattern cutting and manufacture - specifically within womenswear. I have a strong interest in commercial fashion, following a placement in previous years with commercial designers and pattern cutters.
I enjoy creating things that can be worn in everyday life and the capability of being able to wear my clothes no matter the occasion. I have strong CAD skills following a masterclass with Julian Fuller, Head of Menswear at Debenhams, in which I gained the skills to create professional industry standard technical drawings. Other than my current FMP, other projects that I have participated in include live briefs with River Island, Boo-Hoo and Teletubbies. In the future, I plan to continue my personal handmade clothing business called - The Devil Wears Frills.
INSPIRATION
My Final Major Project, is a 6-outfit collection that has been designed with the Financial District of New York City in mind. I have created this collection so that it has the ability for my clothing to go from day-to-night and be able to be dressed up or down. My concept was stemmed from the popularity of typical workwear being worn in non-work places. I have used elements of workwear within this collection blended with aspects of clothing on the high street.
Following a trip to NYC, I fell in love with the city and everything about it. I loved the difference between New Yorkers travelling to work and New Yorkers going out in the evening. This has therefore been the main inspiration for my collection and therefore insuring that my collection could be conveyed from day-to-night.
