Using their background in theatrical costume design, Reed Morgan uses narrative storytelling and world-building to create dynamic mixed gender fashion and accessories collections. Placing emphasis on craftsmanship and the use of naturally-derived materials to honour the tradition of design.
It is in this tradition that Morgan finds the beauty of Fashion, a constant push and pull between Passion and Dedication, efficiency and efficacy, and it is that juxtaposition which serves as a cornerstone of much of Morgan's design work. Throughout their time studying at Leeds Arts University they have undertaken internships, placements, and studio assistant jobs in a variety of slow and bespoke fashion studios, from leather goods to bridal all with the goal of furthering this craftsmanship understanding fashion both as an art and as a business.
INSPIRATION
"Mark of the Beast" (2025) finds its roots deep in the Florida swamps, where evangelical christianity defines the socio-political landscape, and the native flora and fauna are treated like monsters for existing near humans. It is in this culture, built around faith and normalcy, that Reed Morgan grew up; a queer child, branded a sinner before they understood what queerness meant. As America has become more divisive, Morgan retreated deeper into the world that this collection evolved from.
A world where queer people could find refuge in nature, surrounded by the icons of a religion which hated them, yet recreating it in the image of the life around them. Each look in this collection serves as a character in this narrative, with references to the stories of the christian canon, religious iconography, queer identity, and Florida's indigenous wildlife. Reflecting the real beauty and pain of being marked a beast.
