Hi, I'm Priya a Graduate Fashion Design Student
As a fashion designer, design is bringing your imagination to life. I’ve always challenged myself to produce something new whilst designing. Fashion for me expressing myself through fabrics, prints and colours.
As my concept is about optical illusions, I wanted to bring psychology into fashion to have a different viewpoint on garments to show the female satisfaction of the body.
INSPIRATION
My Initial Idea started from Nature
This project is mainly inspired by nature such as roses, scenery, and the effects of different patterns which relate to optical illusions. This shows how the world is reflected through the eyes and how the human brain works. Illusions can be illuminating as they separate perception from reality. Therefore, my design will make you think and use your imagination to create a new image in your mind. The colour inspiration comes from the sunset which is made up of different shades of purple, pink and blues.

My Illusion Print & Fabric Manipulation
My inspiration for the detailing started from nature and different lines of optical illusions which are combined together to show how people see the print in different ways to create that new image. My print ideas developed from roses and trees to give the illusional effects of nature to put the wearer into a psychological state.The colours contrast to make the perception of the body change shape. The use of manipulation interprets the human eye as part of the design which contrasts two prints together to give off distinctive illusional effects. This is a spring/summer collection aimed at young women.
