About Me

"Hey, I'm Pip, a fashion comms graduate from Northumbria University."

As a conceptualist, stylist, and photographer, I channel my creative power into broadcasting feminist issues. Coming from a traditional farming family in a small North Lincolnshire village, I never fit the conservative mould, and through fashion, I’ve learned to challenge expectations and give my work a deeper purpose.

I’m fuelled by frustration at the relentless stream of media noise we’re forced to consume. Channelling that anger into my work has become my way of coping, using styling and creative direction to push boundaries and spark conversation. In every project, I aim to create something immersive, impactful, and emotionally charged, shedding light on the issues the news often ignores.

INSPIRATION

“Nepenthes is driven by my urgent hope to reclaim and reshape the future of feminism.”

After witnessing the dismantling of women’s rights in America digitally, I felt an urgent need to create before the UK faces a similar fate. With the privilege of a creative platform through my fashion work, I feel a responsibility to use it with purpose, raising awareness and provoking conversation around important feminist issues.

After creating Strictly Business and The Peace Ordering of a Modern Witch, I discovered my love for communicating the importance of feminism using fashion, which inspired Nepenthes. I pushed further on this project, working with five models and expanding artist collaborations. The fashion fiction book centres on three characters: Sira, an abused tech experiment; Morganna, daughter of sea witch Ursula; and Thalia, a warrior goddess sent from another world.

DETAIL

Nepenthes x Fortnite

As part of the promotional strategy for Nepenthes, the project will collaborate with Fortnite to launch exclusive character skins of Sira, Morganna, and Thalia. With Fortnite’s user base being 72.4% male as of January 2025 (Kumar, 2025), this collaboration aims to bring the feminist themes of Nepenthes into an unexpected space. By integrating these powerful, female figures into one of the world’s most popular games, the campaign will spark discussion and visibility on platforms like TikTok. It aims to engage young male audiences, often excluded from feminist dialogue, and challenge their perceptions of misogyny, identity, and power through interactive storytelling. By entering the gaming world, Nepenthes doesn’t just promote fashion fiction; it expands its cultural impact, using entertainment to induce critical thinking and inspire a more inclusive mindset.
