My creative work specialises in colourful screen printing onto textiles, using a range of technique's to create new patterns and textures for womenswear fashion, aimed at women who aren't afraid to stand out.
After studying art for nearly 5 years and being a textile designer for 3 years in university my passion is creating fabrics for womenswear fashion aimed at individuals who want a luxury looking fabric whilst also not having to pay luxury prices.
INSPIRATION
Throughout university i started to take an interest into my surroundings such as nature and architecture and found a real passion for it as i found i am able to create abstract patterns using my imagination.
My main media i use is black Indian ink, using different sized brushes or any objects i can find laying about, to see what different textures ad mark making i can create. I use Indian ink as i specialise in screen printing and this is an easy process when transferring onto a screen.
DETAIL
My final collection is intended to relate to the 1960s-1970s taking inspiration from colour pattern and fabrics which were popular at that time, focusing on synthetic and organic fabrics such as polyester, cotton and denim. In my FMP i wanted to make my collection as sustainable as possible, by achieving this i have collected materials from family , friends and visiting charity shops to try and reduce fabric waste.
