At the core of my design perspective, is queer identity and expression. I value experimental menswear and consistently find myself developing provocative, tongue-in-cheek narratives for my work.
I will have completed my MA degree at UoS in early 2023, with the intent to gain as much industry experience as possible from now. I am extremely eager to be in a professional environment surrounded by like-minded creatives as the ability to work collaboratively and learn from others is crucial to my creative practices.
INSPIRATION
In the written proposal for my final major project, I dove deep into my retrospectively queer childhood influences alongside my substantial Catholic education. Recognising how each of these impacted and built me as a person, have helped refine who I am as a designer.
My aim was to embrace my inner demons and encourage others to do so; by taking silhouette inspiration from those fear instilling entities we see depicted in historical paintings, and draping them in undeniably beautiful, regal fabrics.
DETAIL
With sustainability playing a key part in my everyday life, this impromptu fabric sourcing trip helped incorporate another layer of myself into my collection.
