About Me

Hi I’m Olivia I’m a fashion promotion graduate from MMU

I was inspired by the lack of inclusivity within the fashion industry and how many individuals feel segregated and not represented. My project revolved around creating a solution, preventing consumers from feeling excluded based on their bodies. I created a hypothetical body image brand using innovative technology and community building strategies.

My concept for my final project was to allow a true sense of inclusion to be expressed through marketing and content narratives, to the shopping experience itself, to allow all bodies to be treated equally. My project focused on the sizing of clothing to prevent segregation of different bodies and how to make body image campaigns create less comparison of bodies. Therefore my brands campaign narratives focus on individuality rather than a collective of people, to allow a true form of diversity and representation to be achieved and also reflect my hypothetical brands service and products.

INSPIRATION

My inspiration and initial idea developed from conversations with friends and thorough research

As friends expressed they felt unrepresented and neglected by the fashion industry through the lack of authentic content and the segregation of bodies, resulting in them feeling isolated when shopping with friends who may fit in ‘normal’ categories, I wanted to delve deeper into this issue. Additionally, research concluded that many individuals and minority groups also felt the same and expressed confusion to why they couldn’t where everyone else did.

This inspired me to create a project that allowed inclusivity to be at the heart, allowing individuality to be expressed rather than placing individuals into a generic group, to allow individuals to feel worthy, beautiful, and valued. I wanted to create an experience for consumers that celebrated unique bodies and the amazing things they are capable of rather than just the appearance of bodies, as my inspiration was to help individuals body image perception.

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I used technology innovations within my campaign to allow a true sense of inclusivity to be formed

I created authentic content to capture my brands target audience, generation Z. I created promotional assets allowing individuals to form a connection. My campaign allows individuals to portray their own body image story, allowing the values of my hypothetical brand to be relatable. My brands USP is creating unique made to fit clothing for bodies, to allow a perfect fit. The narrative of my brands campaign focuses on showing positive affects of perfect fitting clothes by using eccentric poses to express the message it will allow confidence to be gained. I focused on digital channels to allow participation and accessibility from all individuals no matter their circumstance, to allow inclusivity to be the focus. I created a personalised app, a vlog series for the campaign video, a website, TikTok challenge, Virtual Reality event with influencers, Instagram content and an interactive package insert, with its main focus to prompt user-generated content after the purchase stage to increase customer loyalty.

I want to continue to express my passion of allowing inclusivity for all within the fashion industry with story-telling through visuals and concepts by using marketing, art direction and branding
