About Me

Hi I'm Olivia, an LAU Fashion photography graduate

Olivia is a fashion photographer who merges intimacy with eclectic artistic expression. Her work weaves together personal and shared narratives, creating visual stories rich in emotional depth. She explores these stories through raw, honest moments as well as surreal, otherworldly concepts that push creative boundaries.

I value portraying real and meaningful experiences through my imagery, often using fashion as a medium to express these narratives. My work is rooted in a desire to reflect truth and emotion, whether through raw, unfiltered moments or through symbolic, surreal interpretations. This fluid visual approach allows me to explore different layers of storytelling, bridging reality and imagination to communicate deeper human experiences.

INSPIRATION

Inspired to push my creativity and explore meaningful connections through my photography.

A constant drive to push myself creatively and create meaningful, personal imagery inspires my work. I love how freeing and expansive photography feels because it gives me the freedom to express ideas and emotions in any way that comes to mind. I especially enjoy producing more in-depth photography that explores richer, thoughtful perspectives beyond the surface.

Symbolism, surrealism, and cinematography are large influences in my work. I enjoy combining aesthetically pleasing imagery with subtle symbolic elements that provoke thought and create connections with viewers, whether through personal interpretations or shared experiences.

DETAIL

Metamorphosis: A Fashion Editorial Exploring Universal Connections

My fashion editorial Metamorphosis delves into transformation as a universal experience, using the life cycle of birth, vitality, decay, and rebirth as a metaphor for emotional and physical change. The series draws on moth-human connotations and employs surreal and symbolic imagery to explore this theme. Through these visuals, I invite viewers to reflect on the ongoing processes of becoming, loss, and renewal that shape our identities and existence. The work encourages personal interpretation and urges each viewer to find their own meaning within the imagery. This concept was brought to life through thoughtful set design, including a giant egg and painted backdrops, crafted by me using papier-mâché and recycled fabrics. Color choices relate to each life cycle stage, while lighting, art direction, and visual language maintain coherence and enrich the narrative.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
