About Me

Olivia Brown is an alum from the Kent State School of Fashion.

Olivia Brown believes fashion is art, and art is the freedom of expression. Olivia has developed a fun and playful yet bold and expressive design style. She has found a passion in using her voice an a designer to empower others.

Olivia Brown is grateful for the wealth of knowledge she has acquired through the Kent State School of fashion. Olivia believes that fashion should not only look good, but it should make you feel good as well. She has used her unique design aesthetic to create an accessories collection with the goal of empowerment. She also has repurposed materials in her accessories to make them sustainable as well. She believes if she can impact just one life through what she creates, she has done enough.

INSPIRATION

Olivia Brown has embraced her unique design style.

Olivia has aspired to be a designer since she was a young girl. In middle school, She would carry around a notebook titled "Livy's Boutique. Since then she has gained entrepreneurial experience in licensing her jewelry business. She has gained a wealth of experience in various forms of design including; "computer aided design, illustrator, photoshop, print development, hand illustrations and so much more. She has explored different avenues of "wearable art" by painting portraits directly onto clothing.

Olivia Brown has cultivated her design aesthetic through the inspirational imagery of life. Through the greenery of nature, common household items, various artists and brands with an explosive aesthetic, she has discovered her love for expressive wearable art.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Olivia believes through her passion for empowerment, she can use her fashion to spark change.

Fashion is a multifaceted concept that involves, art, inspiration, process, design and often ending in a product. Sometimes that product is not only a print, or a computer aided design nor an article of clothing, the product may be a feeling. My hope is that, through my work, someone who may have experienced a negativity towards themselves, would feel encouraged. Fashion that impacts the heart is my main focus. If I, as a designer, have an opportunity to create a statement, just through my clothing, why not use that voice to produce a message of body positivity, in a world dominated by "beauty standards". Why not use that opportunity to make someone smile. My goal is not only make clothing that looks good, but to make a statement, through said clothing, that does the heart good. I have launched my t-shirt apparel "Imperfection Collection". It simply states "This Brand is For 'Not Perfect People'" thus creating a statement that encourages the embracing of yourself as you are. Apparel with a purpose.

"I'd rather do it afraid than remain in the comfort of my own fear" Olivia B.
