I'm a Fashion Branding and Communication student who specialises in creative direction, art direction, publication design and graphic design. Over the past three years, I have utilised my strengths which have allowed me to become a well-rounded, focussed and hard-working graduate.
I work extremely well in collaborative practice as well as personal projects. Working through the pandemic and lockdown has forced me to become more adaptable than I thought I could be. I am not afraid to push my creative ability and always face challenges head-on.
INSPIRATION
I was initially inspired by a creatives individual and specific use of colour, particularly how colour inspires us all in unique and different ways. Creating a publication with the main focus on one particular colour per issue, allows it to stand apart from new competitor publications and highlights how colour inspires creatives in extraordinary ways.
My main aim for this project was to shed light on new and upcoming creatives within the West Midlands; Creating a publication through lockdown, highlighted the perseverance and determination of young creatives, but also sheds light on how adaptable the next generation of creatives have learned to be.
DETAIL
I wanted to create a body of work that not only showcased my creative capabilities, but also highlighted the graduate I aspire to be. Working remotely due to the pandemic forced me to make more connections with other students than I had for any other module, as well as encouraging me to take bigger steps in terms of art direction, graphic design and creative direction. Taking on the creative direction role for my final major project allowed me to prove to myself that I was more than capable in creating a unique and visually engaging publication. As an aspiring graduate, I hope that my work emulates strong emotion and tells a story of my journey into becoming a Fashion Branding and Communication Graduate.
