About Me

Hi, I'm Megan, a Fashion Branding and Comms Graduate from AUB

Graduating from Arts University Bournemouth, Megan has an extremely varied skill set in areas ranging from Social Media, Photography, Film, and Trend Forecasting. As a creative she prides herself in making creative, engaging and innovative content in an authentic way, with aims to grow communities and audiences.

I would describe my visual style over my three years at AUB as 'trashy', 'tacky', and to some people 'tasteless'. Playing with colour, patterns and textures over the past three years has allowed me to curate my unique visual form, which I can adapt and transform proactive and resilient when working for brands with solid visual foundations.

INSPIRATION

My inspiration came from the shame created by years of underperforming education on sexual pleasure

Utter Filth's concept came from a multitude of questions all positioned around themes of taste and what is considered ‘tasteful’ throughout society. The idea of nakedness, nudity and sex is something that is still taboo even though it is saturated across the world in adverts and magazines. The negative view of sex and nudity that this creates within younger emerging generations became a huge inspiration for Utter Filth Magazine.

The need to see the magazine become a recognised name within communities looking for content related to them, and to spark open conversations about sex, including safe sex, pleasure, and kinks is also a major influence, with the need for this in societies realm of sexual journey's. This also includes the want to help define words and disintegrate the links between derogatory terms, i.e. slut and whore with sex itself in aid of changing cultural attitudes towards these expressions

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Authenticity and Visual excitement were main points of the creation of Utter Filth Magazine.

The print publication emphasises on the exploitative and kinky world of sexual pleasure whilst owning yourself, your sexual journey, your wants, and your needs. Utter Filth focuses on vivid colours, bold themes, design and overall expression with the aim to create an authentic and open conversations about sex. The magazine is aimed at the market gap created by other publications that don’t focus exclusively on empowerment through sex, or even sex as a whole, but showcase art, fashion and culture. Within Utter Filth, all content is related to sex and remains unapologetic, so that audiences can create a safe space to express themselves sexually. Utter Filth’s values are to be truly raw and authentic in all the processes they partake, making sure it is the best for its mission and audience.
