Hi, I'm Matt and I'm a graduate from Plymouth College of Art!
Creating beautiful things is something I love to do and challenging traditional ideas will always be a passion of mine. I always aim to bring a flair of originality to my artistic endeavours. My creative specialisms include digital content creation, styling, art direction, and photography.
Over the last year, COVID-19 has drastically impacted my degree, forcing me to think outside the box and develop my creative vision in order to continue producing high-quality work. My Fashion Media and Marketing degree has provided me with the opportunity to grow as an artist and work towards my career aspirations within the fashion industry.
INSPIRATION
Focusing on the future
Inspiration manifests in many different ways for me. I have always been inspired by the power and beauty of femininity which often translates and emerges within much of my creative work. I am also highly intrigued by fame and pop culture which often provides me with extensive and compelling creative references.
I am also heavily inspired by the future which has been a prominent narrative within my final major project. Growing up in such a fast-paced digital world has led to a personal fascination with what is to come next and I always love to create and innovate new and exciting concepts surrounding the future of the creative world.

Creating a half-human, half-robotic pop star
My final year work centers around a fictional half-human, half-robotic pop star called Evie who is based in the late 2030s and early 2040s. She represents visual ideologies of celebrity culture along with showcasing the possibilities of fame in the future. Evie was an alternative name option that my parents chose for me before I was born, therefore, it felt pertinent to honour their wishes and give this character a meaningful name. Evie allows me to combine many creative mediums and use the art of drag to produce something beautiful. Adobe Suite has also been an invaluable tool to this project due to the essential graphic design and content creation elements that are required.
