About Me

Hi, I'm Mathis Gaonarch, student at Lisaa Mode Paris.

I was born and raised in Brittany. I have a strong taste for art in general. I have always loved to create, learn and discover. At the age of 18 I decided to study fashion design in Paris. I always had the need to get out of my comfort zone, to see new things and especially to learn.

Have the need to pay tribute. Tribute to women, to trauma, to people who inspire me. If I chose the 50's as the main thread of my collection, it is because of the condition of women at that time. Often forgotten, but used. Often mistreated, but hidden. I want you to feel this trauma, this "flash" through my clothes. So I let you discover my universe.

INSPIRATION

The need to convey a feeling, a look, an emotion while recalling a memory, a flashback.

my inspirations usually come from films, exhibitions or music. I need to soak up sounds or details that surround me. The idea for my collection came from watching war reports and the 1950s. It's an era that inspires me a lot. I want to pay "homage" to women and trauma.

I wanted to tell the story of a woman reliving her trauma. A war shock. She tries to find a way out, an escape route. It's important for me to talk about shock, trauma. Whether it was in the 1950s or even today. The place of women is still too small.

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I used the main details of a 1950s wardrobe.

Being inspired by the 1950s wardrobe is my basic concept. I wanted to traumatise this by intervening with "flash pieces". The details are on the collars, cuffs, button plackets but also on the flash pieces. Details that take us directly back to an anxiety-provoking universe. I wanted to recover old materials, reuse fabrics, transform them with a view to upcycling.

There is no such thing as adversity. Every defeat, every shock, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance next time.
