About Me
Hi! I´m Marta, a graduated from Southampton Solent University.
My name is Marta Alonso and I was born in Madrid, Spain where I started my journey in the beauty industry. From the age of 18, my passion and ambition for makeup and hair took me to the United Kingdom, where I have been living and studying for the last 4 years.
During this period of time I have had the fortune to work with talented people such as the House of Ikons team, during the London Fashion Week. The opportunity to meet different people and get to know other cultures, helped me to develop as individual and also as an artist, this also gives me a unique outlook when I am developing new design concepts. My versatility and dedication are fundamental to adapt my skills to work between makeup and hair for Fashion, Film or TV. As an artist I am constantly educating and pushing myself to achieve the best work.
INSPIRATION
My idea stems from how intimacy could change after the pandemic of COVID-19.
In my final year I wanted to push my boundaries and develop my creativity, what lead me to generate Future Perversions. A project based in five speculative designs for each of our senses, that explores pleasure and give a twist to the idea of normality, after the pandemic of Coronavirus. Against the attitudes towards sexual identity and behavior established by society, it challenges dominant culture.
Through a careful selection of the colors used, a new color palette is created, leaving behind the colors usually associated with pleasure and fetishes. Tones like Orchid Flower, Lazuli Blue or Mango Sorbet are some of the protagonist within materials like metal and gold. This way Future Perversion has a fresh and contemporary look, that is link with the emotions and needs of humans after the pandemic of COVID-19.

Makeup and Hair trends for summer 21 where used.
For the project a fluid application of makeup was carried out to highlight the importance of diversity. I decided to research about the forthcoming tendencies in the beauty industry and included them in the photoshoots, to take a new approach in the fetish aesthetic without distracting from the main message.
