About Me

Hi, I am Malene, a Fashion Styling and Creative Direction Graduate

My main focus evolves around conceptual ideas exploring topics within both the non-physical and material world. Communicating my own vision of the spiritual world in a minimalistic, innovative and experimental way. Exploring unconventional ideas through different mediums to convey and communicate a personal perspective of the world.

My final major project involves five printed handmade books exploring the universal laws of the universe. The books explore their own topic, but belong together as a serie. They are called, energy, water, spirit, time and starseed - in chronological order. Exploring fundamental and spiritual concepts in an abstract and conceptualized vision. The books explore essential elements within nature. Each booklet has its own functional design in order to enhance the visual experience and understanding of each concept. The series aims to visually convey abstract topics with a contemporary approach.

INSPIRATION

I am lost somewhere between solid ground and enternal space

Inspired by everything around me, yet also inspired by everything I cannot see. Our own imagination is our strongest tool when it comes to creaitvity. The confussion of beliving in something there is no physical evidence towards. Exploring fundamental concepts - the basics of exsistence in a personal and abstract way. The world surrond each one of us, everyone sees the world in a different way. My interpretations are personal, yet open for reflection by the viewer itself.

The 1 book explores the idea of how energy moves, forms, and exists. The 2 book explores the evolution of water from its beginning - an interpretation of water as a metaphor in space. The 3 book explores the spirit of nature – the soul and the relationship between humans and nature. The 4 book explores the concept of time. How time is an illusion, it is something nonphysical, but at the same time it affects us emotionally. The 5 book explores space travel in the form of other beings travelling to earth.

DETAIL

La meg gĂĄ (Let me go)

Can heartbreaks be both sad and beautiful at the same time? This video is exploring the bittersweet moments ones go through when experiencing a heartbreak. Capturing moments filled with emotions - both good and bad. The film takes the viewer on an emotional journey showcasing a couples interactions with each other, yet also their individual thoughts and perspectives of the relationship is explored. The initial idea behind the film is to visually explain the different emotions involved within a relationship, exploring the raw emotions - uncovering the romantic surface.

I take great pride in my work - it is a reflection of myself and my inner world.
