About Me

I'm Luca a fashion design graduate, based in Milan.

Luca was born in Macerata (Italy) in February 1999. He has been specialising in the garment sector since 2016; acquiring all the essential knowledge and skills for developing a fashion collection, including the selection of fabrics and color matching, as well as the principles of pattern-making, for the actual realization of garments and accessories.

Highly motivated to explore present and future needs; finding innovative aesthetic solutions, while valuing classicism and tradition. A profound passion for knitwear and a strong determination are the forces that distinguish him. His aspiration is being able to express himself freely, by finding his own space within a team; creating the right mix of creativity and the ability to work in synergy.

INSPIRATION

... a reflection of the need to disconnect, facing a surreal introspective journey.

Contemplation as an object of relaxation. Walking barefoot on the ground we live in and giving importance to even the slightest sensation perceived through our senses. Touching raw materials, handcrafted without too much precision. A thought aimed at removing the superfluous; to free oneself and let the oxygen circulate our minds, that are filled with more and more information. ''Pruning the deadwood'' of a society that is now idealised in terms of production speed and stress.

The aesthetic recalls minimalism with details inspired by buddhist zen monks and the 1960’s Space Age, citing the aesthetic of Pierre Cardin. artists such as Robert Morris in regards of essentiality and Franco Vaccari for the concept of surrealist and dreamlike imaginary. The materials utilized are washed out and of grainy texture, while shapes are comfortable and enveloping. The colors remind us of the 70s, giving life to a future vision of a nostalgic era, in search of an essential elsewhere.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Knitwear experimentations.

My thought was to create knitwear by weaving thai ropes with thin mohair wool yarn; creating a strong contrast between synthetic and natural materials. It was very interesting to play around with different knitting techniques and yarn combinations; trying to find the most captivating texture. There are certain values that are communicated through the process of elaborating these experimentations, such as respect for tradition and craftsmanship, but with an innovative and contemporary vision.

Thank you for watching.
