About Me

Hi, I'm Lottie, a Fashion Communication graduate from UWE Bristol

Lottie is a Creative Director, Photographer and Art Director. Her curious approach allows her to create successful outcomes that take time and consideration getting to know the in-depth character she is photographing.

My portfolio that I have built during my degree showcases the many skills I have developed and built upon especially my proficiency in creating publication layouts and becoming more innovative and experimental, while encompassing my core values as a creative.

INSPIRATION

My inspiration started while photographing my friends.

My work is influenced by the connections I make with people and how they have built their identities. Within this I have explored the relationship between people and the places they inhabit and how that builds their identity. I have been drawn especially to the seaside village of St Mawes in Cornwall with its light, rugged landscape and the interesting and often typically un-beautiful faces of the locals.

My outcomes have been influenced by issues such as sustainability and the under representation of over 50's in fashion media. I became interested in sustainability when I undertook an Extended Project Qualification titled ‘To what extent to the disadvantages outweigh the advantages of fast fashion? 'and became aware of the drastic changes that need to be made.

DETAIL

The 'Hele' Publication

The publication ‘Hele’ explores my grandmothers life and how her clothes have impacted and built upon her identity though stories from her youth. With the use of imagery, ‘Hele’ encapsulates her connection with St Mawes in Cornwall and how St Mawes has helped to shape her identity over the years. The publication addresses the problem of under-representation of an older generation within fashion media.

'Her curious approach allows her to create successful outcomes that take time and consideration getting to know the in-depth character she is photographing.'
