About Me

Hi, I'm Lily, a Fashion Design graduate from University of South Wales

Specialising in womenswear and sustainability by experimenting with handmade bio materials throughout the collection. Through my particular interest in nature and the theme of decay, I aim to portray the importance of the use of sustainable methods within the fashion industry.

My research into sustainability has led me to create my own innovative materials as a biodegradable alternative that could be used within fashion or other industries. During my degree, I have developed a particular interest in print design and garment construction, I enjoy practicing innovative design and sustainable methods.

INSPIRATION

My inspiration comes from nature and a need for change within the industry

Due to the consequences from the pandemic in 2020, demand for streetwear decreased and a light was shed on the harmful effects of the fashion supply chain, a need for change has been acknowledged. Now that the world is slowly repairing, we are still aware of these issues and sustainability is becoming vital. I have designed a streetwear collection inspired by nature and the theme of decay. I wanted to change the way we look at decay and reinvent it by using bright bold colours and innovative materials.

I wanted to tell a story throughout my collection to bring awareness to social, environmental and economic issues. As my inspiration focused on decay in nature, I encased pressed leaves and flowers in bioplastic which I handmade. I also wanted to focus on using sustainable methods such as reversible clothing and innovative materials.

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I incorporated bold prints, the use of biomaterials and embroidery in my collection

My collection includes a bright bold print inspired by decaying leaves and the pattern they make, leaves also inspired my embroidery leaf shapes.
