About Me

Hi, I'm Leyla a Graduate From Istituto Marangoni Milano

She was born in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, in 2000. Since her childhood, she wanted to be a part of this talented world. She grew up on films of fashion and still fond of reading stories about fashion and designers. Her main purpose is to pursue a creative path characterized by innovation and experimentation, showing her art ability through the collections.

"Joy. That is the purpose of fashion for me. The joy of wearing something that makes you feel powerful, beautiful and in control. Fashion is about storytelling through clothing; it’s about the stories behind them and the ones you create around them. It’s a cultural influence, backstory or intellectual touchpoint that you can trace back to what you’re wearing. The main goal has always been to create a global trend using the traditional ornaments of my hometown, which will bring worldwide recognition to Azerbaijan's culture.

INSPIRATION

"Turn Your Imagination On"

"Turn Your Imagination On" spring - summer 2022 collection must be analyzed by focusing on three main topics: (1) The concrete and physical world without which we cannot exist. (2) Our fantasy without which we would be poor and unable to develop cultural products. And (3) the creative world without which we would never be able to communicate our visions and ideas in an understandable way to another person.

The collection contrasts aspects such as the relationship between fullness and emptiness, the relationship between the person and space. The collection tries to remove the distance and all the borders between people and clothes. The aim is to make people feel close and create a connection between them. The missing parts, different types of embroidery filled with holes, layering, straight and linear shapes, gathers and folds are key elements of the collection.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

The collection includes various handmade pieces, with crochet, pleats, smock stitch and embroidery.

Particular attention is dedicated to fabric manipulations. The embroideries on tulle of various types and sizes, filled with holes, resemble a spider's web and create an "incomplete" effect, reflects the theme of the collection. The dissimilarity of the two worlds - fullness and emptiness - is also understandable in the selection of fabrics. To create a sort of balance, the collection contains fabrics, both shiny and opaque. Within the collection there is a contrast between heaviness and lightness, the collection starts with fabrics such as duchesse and taffeta and ends with wool or tweed. Existence and effectiveness of color blocking: ease and order have value, especially in a year of chaos. The collection floats in soft tones - brown, gray, there are also shades of yellow. The subtle colors - anise blossom, pale peach, dark seagull gray - further attenuated the precision cultivated in the collection. Each garment was created after a deep study and has a detailed background.

"In our world, everything is full-fledged, in order to complete the whole puzzle, it will be enough to turn the imagination and fantasy, cause difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. "
