About Me

HI, I'M LARISSA A FASHION DESIGN GRADUATE FROM GERMANY

I am Larissa Pascale Binder and a young just graduated designer, ready for exchange and sharing experience with others and looking for new challenges and job opportunities in tomorrows world of fashion - creative, enthusiastic and hard working talent with lots of ideas and experience in the fashion industry with Marine Serre, Christian Wijnants and Hugo Boss.

With my work I combine creativity with the human body. My motivation is not only to design wearable artworks, but also to use them to convey relevant to complex social contexts, not only in a superficial and obvious way. Meaningful charged designs are combined with the medium of fashion to transmit feelings, meanings, opinions, expressions, statements and to communicate them with and through each garment.

INSPIRATION

MY INITIAL INSPIRATION FOCUS LIES ON SOCIO-CRITICAL THEMES

The influence of daily life, status quo, social movements, questions on inequality, concerns about the environment, fears for the future, changes and farsighted sources are my constant inspiration areas to develop fashion collections. Furthermore, opposites and the tension of contrasting elements are enriching my focus and are completing the inspiration conception.

Tangibility as an alternative to the imaginary - I want people to be able to identify themselves with my sources of inspiration. They should become part of my mission by interacting, understanding or comprehending. Garments can convey the message of my mission - whether this is consciously intended or not.

DETAIL

MY COLLECTIONS ARE SUGGESTIONS OF HOW ALTERNATIVE CONCEPTS WITH FASHION CAN BE COMMUNICATED

Therefore, I am observing my surroundings and the environment we are living in. Self experienced moments, familiar things around us, individual human bodies and caused actions by humans, help me to develop and explore sustainable design approaches. By creatively commenting these observations, my aim is to create designs that are not only sustainable on the textile and production level, but especially on the level of meaning. The visualization of textile manipulation and the development of prints that are equally offensive and inconspicuous promote the communication of the theme. Combinations of different materials, redefinition of already existing pieces and an individual and innovative silhouette development, that is brought to life through draping and cut manipulation, are completing my detailed design language on different visual levels. My collections are made for every person who wants to embody them.

FASHION IS NOT ONLY A WEARABLE ART - IT IS ALSO A MEDIUM TO BE USED TO COMMUNICATE AND TO CONTRIBUTE TO INDIVIDUALIZED DESIGN WITH INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS AND SUSTAINABLE APPROACHES.
