About Me

Hi I’m Josh, a Creative Innovator and Graduate from BCU

After delving into the digital work of Fashion, I was inspired to research ways in which I could push the boundaries of Fashion Technology – There is also a focus on how I could improve on accessibility and inclusion within the Fashion industry.

After spending most of the year inside due to the recent pandemic, I found myself seeing the world change and evolve to accommodate the industries that rely so much on an in-person work environment. It was from this seeing this that I decided to explore how we could improve the fashion industry digitally and how I could utilise this to make the industry a more accessible place for future designers and creatives.

INSPIRATION

How new and exciting digital software can be used to expand and integrate the Fashion Industry ~

Whilst researching the use of digital models within the fashion industry, I came across articles that looked at the attempts made to recreate fashion entertainment during the pandemic. With the fashion industry gradually becoming more integrated within the digital world, I felt there was a place within fashion entertainment that could utilise the use of digital software such a Virtual and Augmented reality to its advantage.

I also realised that I was inspired to create something that expanded the fashion industry, turning it into a more accessible environment. With the use of Virtual Reality, anyone could experience a high-end fashion show like they attended the event themselves. I want to create something that will help inspire the future generations of designers and creatives, whilst thinking innovatively in ways that digital software can create exciting new experiences.

DETAIL

Using all digital elements I created a short film of my vision ~

As my idea was very adventurous, I knew that it wasn't something that would be created quickly. Before I began creating a finished product, I wanted to refine the concept and the vision that I had for this. Beholder was created as a beginning to what will hopefully be a fully refined product, and is something I am pursuing in a Masters degree. The work produced embodies all the visuals and vision I had for this project and is the first milestone for a much larger outcome. I learnt lots of new software’s and techniques to create this short film, from visual effects to motion capture and tracking as I wanted the experience to be exciting and inspiring, and I look forward to continuing this and showing the world a finished product that can be used within the fashion industry.
