Chinese born, Tokyo based, graduate class of 2022 Bunka Fashion Graduate University of Fashion Design. I love music and I love street culture. They can give me a lot of design inspiration. I specialise in three-dimensional cutting and I have my own ideas for deconstructing clothes. I will take classic elements and bring them back to life in my own way.
My designs come from something I love or a culture that influenced me growing up, it's real and alive. I have been exposed to skateboarding, punk music, HIP-HOP music, street culture, and American vintage clothing since I was a teenager. I was as impulsive, confused and restless as most young people in those days. It was non-mainstream music that gave me the strength to pursue the life I wanted, to defy the shackles, and to see the world with a critical eye. Most of all, it taught me how to wear clothes.
INSPIRATION
The theme is Rotten Orange, the name of a punk band that I conceived in my mind. With the spirit of punk as the main axis, it takes a deeper look into youth culture through punk rock. Clothing is supposed to have a fourth sex, and the fourth sex is the teenagers who don't even have the right to vote in a referendum. They are physically and mentally very different from their parents' generation. Youth culture should be valued at all times.
Orange originally gives an impression of enthusiasm and positivity, but what we wanted to convey is that the decaying orange is itself a contradiction. Just like us in society, it is bound by various constraints, unable to grow freely and gradually decaying. Wouldn't society be wonderful if one day every orange looked fresh? The existence of punk is a product of social conflict. Every era creates conflicts that cannot be resolved. Punk will always exist, and the design I want to express will always exist.
DETAIL
The design was based on the theme of 'Rotten Orange', the name of a punk band in an imaginary world, in the form of punk rock. The design was expressed in the form of punk rock. As punk rock is a form of music that combines a main melody and three chords, the design story was divided into three stages. I divided the design story into three stages and expressed the thoughts in my head with three pictures of my own creation: bondage, resistance and freedom. And the main color orange represents the willingness to break the chains and sublimate inwards, from being bound in chains and rotting away. The willingness to break the chains and sublimate inwards. The representative motifs of each picture were expressed by laser cutting and textile printing. The design is a mix of collage, exaggerated silhouettes and punk elements, from the selection of the theme to the idea to the production. The essence of punk is to express one's vision of an ideal society by taking place from a critical perspective.
