Combining my knowledge and love for music, fashion and film, my work involves a multidimensional approach to image and film making; using sound and visuals to develop strong narratives.
Following a fine art background and multidisciplinary approach to my work, I manipulate imagery to distort ideas of reality and elevate specific details/visuals of a person’s narrative. I aspire to use my skills in both the fashion and music industry to amplify diverse voices.
Inspired by this idea of “inventing the reality we would like to live in”, my current project, Fuzzed, visualises a distorted reality that understands real narratives through a surreal lens. Looking at films from people such as Andrei Tarkovsky, as well as music video directors/producers such as CC Wade, my work understands a tone of escape that elevates the idea of dream worlds and creating our own realities.
With diversity and inclusivity at the forefront of this project, I wanted the project to promote and connect the voices of mixed heritage/race people, like myself, with the aim of creating a more inclusive industry. All individuals involved in the project have influenced the outcome of the images through sharing their narrative.
An ongoing project that will understand an imagined World; an echo of the now, where we construct our own realities, giving space to explore and understand the self. It will promote individuals narratives and personalities through visuals of a self imagined world; presenting ideas of escape, community, freedom and comfort to the audience. The images/narratives/ideas will be subjective to each individual and certain aspects may resonate better with some more than others.
