About Me

Hi, I’m Jack, Fashion Comms graduate from Nottingham Trent University

Jack Chipper is a motivated and innovative creative, with two years freelancing in the creative industry. Working with clients such as: CULTED MEDIA, @Samseats, SUPA Model Management and more. Specialising in fashion, editorial and food Photography, Videography, and video editing. Committed to provide high quality work with a focusing on the little details.

The past couple of years have provided me with many transferable skills and knowledge of cultural and trend habits. Along with problem solving and organisation allowing me to work with multiple clients at once. Developing strong communication skills allowing me to thrive in a teamworking environment. I have strong interests in analogue processes and art direction and a desire for learning and exploring the industry. With a proactive attitude towards constant growth, using my own initiative to achieve high quality work for both university and industry.

INSPIRATION

My inspiration begins with creating and identify things others ignore.

Peoples’ stories and memories, new places and experiences inspire me to explore and create new work. Broadening my perspective through my own personal awareness but also listening and communicating with others, allows me to curate more personally authentic concepts. Learning the process of analogue methods such as film photography provides me with a new sense of refinement in my work. Building strong relationships between both people and process allows for developed storytelling and outcomes.

Creating work that is meaningful not only for myself but also the person on the opposite side of the lens, as well as communicating and understanding their story provides me with further inspiration to create more work. The first story to inspire me was that of a family member who was a bank note engraver and his commitment to the details throughout his career. Where my first understanding and love of the process and details came from and inspired me to apply this commitment to my own work.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

“The Little Things” a project surrounding the new forms of intimacy post pandemic.

Intimacy is a foundation for communication and relationships, which are key factors when forming a person’s identity. The memories and moments of interaction with others make us grow into who we are. The project focusses on the forgotten and muted moments, memories, and little details. The aim was to explore the process of identity formation through an intimate perspective. Documenting the smaller processes and moments to form the larger vision of the project. The outcome is a short fashion film, using multiple techniques to infuse nostalgia and engage the audience, along with a photo series with different creatives with interesting stories. The project is timely due to the impact of Covid on society, we used nostalgia and memories to reminisce and provide comfort for ourselves.

“This work for me is not about progress. It is about destruction and growth and where they are able to meet in the middle.” - Daniel Arsham
