My driving force in creating is to empower people through fashionable art pieces which are inspired by activism and pop culture
My focus lies in womens- and gender neutrals wear, specialties are technical drawing as well as pattern making. Prior to my university studies I already had learned the craft of womenswear tailoring in Germany as a GesellIn
INSPIRATION
In the first semester I focused on the overturn of the abortion law Row v. Wade in the USA. In the second semester my focuses was on the Iranian protests on the hijab laws. With my collection I’d like to make a statement on that women should always have the right to decide what to do with their own body. For the details in that I got partly inspired by 1950s Dior silhouettes and Persian carpets
I incorporated gathers to show the multiple layers of fabrics. The boning and corset binding are inspired by classic womenswear. The mix of fabrics has been taken from the layering of clothes in Iranian culture. The colours are inspired by what are considers feminine like the jewel tones and pinks, as well as the Persian carpets and Iranian culture with the reds, gold and green
DETAIL
All outfits of my final year project “girls just wanna have fundamental rights”, have been made with delicate fabrics like satin and tull to give it a feminine vibe, just like the colour palette. Even more traditional femininity is being shown by the boning and the binding closing, which has been taken from corsets. A lot of inspiration has also come from 1950s Dior dresses and 1930s female undergarments. The two models are giving off a strong aura which fit the theme of being feminine but also a strong feminist which is ready to fight for equality. The photoshoot background of a Persian carpet reflects well with the concept of the dress and corset
