About Me

Hi I’m Cindy, graduate from Shih Chien University.

An enthusiastic fashion designer. Studying design makes me feel excited and dynamic. When I transform my concept into beautiful garments, it gives me a feeling of achievement and satisfaction.

Since I was 5 years old I have shown a lot of interested in fashion design. I have loved to design and make clothes for my barbie. At that time it became my goal to be a fashion designer.During my years at Shih Chien, I gained a lot of professional knowledge about design, in hope that I will be able to one day share my creative and meaningful life stories with the world. I want to prove to everyone that fashion can have a real impact on our culture.

INSPIRATION

A glitch is the phenomenon of a temporary malfunction in an electronic system.

Distortion, dislocation, fragmentation, transmutation, imperfection. A momentary malfunction of life. Breakdowns and errors destroy the back and forth communication between human civilisation and nature, reflecting the flaws and imperfections of human nature. Nevertheless, fragmentation and disintegration represent a curious imperfect aesthetic. I projected this phenomenon onto myself, with my last year of university being full of anxiety.

In the face of graduation and the future, I feared that my performance would not be perfect and not as good as expected. But at the same time, I felt that this was just a part of life and that I should not put so much pressure on myself which only led me to drown in endless darkness. Using this feeling as the stimulation for the concept, I tried to feel all the emotions during the whole project and after finishing the entire collection, I accepted my imperfection and learnt to love the beauty of it.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Print design

Black and white express two extreme emotions, positive and negative. I use black and white to liquefy my main fabric, which is a combination of color mismatch and wrong aesthetic effects to make a distorted look. For the material part, I chose black and white yarn with reflective bud decoration to create a feeling of shadows and shadows, as if emotions were flowing through.

There are no perfect relationships. It's how you accept the imperfections that makes it perfect.
