About Me
Hi I'm Hira Aftab, a fashion design student at the University of Derby
I am a Pakistani British who has lived in the UK for her whole life. As a kid, I always knew that I wanted to do something in the arts but never knew what. So the Journey of Wonders began exploring various fields in art and then came across fashion designing. I knew instantly I wanted to make, and create garments that would bring me joy.
Being able to express yourself in the form of clothing makes wonder happen for many people. To see yourself being in the creation of your work truly makes you feel understood even if no one can tell. As a Pakistani Asian you get bought up in a beautiful culture that is all around you and it affects the way you feel which is overlooked a lot.

My Inspiration came from my love for henna. Henna is something that I am passionate about and have multi media platforms for my little henna business growing little by little. The love of creating a form of art for people and seeing the satisfaction across their faces bringing them the purest form of happiness with the effort and love that you put into your work pays off.

I designed and applied the henna on the hands on people to understand the feelings.
When applying henna on hands and a process which takes a long time to perfect. the attention to detail has to be immense, the focus, the concentration, the steady hand, that level of patience teaches you something that you will carry for the rest of your lives. To apply henna on various hands, shape, size, or even anywhere on the body is a wonderful way to show and express your love for art and just to help make someone feel beautiful.
