About Me

Hi I'm Harrison, an Internation fashion design graduate from Bath Spa.

I am a fashion design graduate with a focus on tailoring and menswear, with a passion for reinventing and evaluating how longevity and inheritance can be applied within the fashion industry. With an international background, Australian, growing up in Switzerland and studying in the United Kingdom, I infuse a unique understanding and perspective into my work.

During my 4 years of study I focused my ethos on re designing what a modern wardrobe should be and how I think my consumer would want to be represented. With beliefs that normal seasonal collections needed to be questioned and re evaluated to further assist in topics surrounding environmental impacts of our industry. My collections are meant to be focused on being a yearly event where the collection fits all kinds of weather and scenarios. Creating a modern wardrobe which is rotational and adaptable.

INSPIRATION

What does a modern wardrobe look like now?

My main point of inspiration came from me trying to understand why fast fashion is such a hyper focus in society and how luxury brands can tackle the rise of fast fashion by reinventing their own ethos. Using brands which aligned with my design aesthetic I placed myself into the market where I best fit. With an interest in details and finishes I used primary research to assist in my own branding and designs. Hyper focusing on small details.

I came to the conclusion that branding and consistency are key to a successful collection and decided that as a designer one of my focuses will be on detailing. Therefore using the brands which I aligned with my design aesthetic I took inspiration. Selection of details such as thread count, zip pulls (engraved with branding or not?), stitch length. Priding my design ethos on the detailed eye. Through this detail understanding it reinforces focuses such as longevity.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

'Out of office' photoshoot embodying the echo of childhood within the work place.

For this photoshoot I tried to capture the essence and theme of the collection. Focusing on the concept of 'Echo of childhood' I decided that an office which has been designed by kids for adults which are reminiscing/ pretending to be kids was how I would do the shoot. Using ideas which kids would image to be at their parents office, almost idealizing the average office. Together the shoot brings in a serious yet playful aspect into the garments and overall presentation.5
