INSPIRATION
When researching and developing my concepts, particularly for makeup design, I try not to look at other makeup artists or designers as I find this is where unoriginal ideas occur. I enjoy looking at art, nature, people, architecture and even random household objects to spark inspiration which means the makeup designs are created by me rather than emulating something that already exists.
As well as this, I also find inspiration from my network and the people that I surround myself with. Being in contact with other creatives, whether that's photographers, filmmakers, graphic designers or stylists, and observing their work ethic and how they master their craft impels me, which I find refreshing to be around.
DETAIL
Over the past three years at university, I've had it drilled into me since the first day about paying attention to detail, whether that's flyaway hairs or uneven graphic liner. Working on London Fashion Week and with other talented creatives on fashion editorials, I've learnt to pick up on the finer details and how this can make a huge difference to the outcome. For example, cleaning up a lip with concealer to make it sharp and neat or using hair products to smooth stray hairs. As well as this, when video or film is involved, I'm sure to note every detail about the look to ensure continuity takes place if filming occurs over one day.
