About Me

FRANCESCO MURANO AND THE HARMONY OF OPPOSITES

FRANCESCO MURANO was born from the union between the passion for design and a love for the classical and baroque arts. The sartorial techniques of the past, reinterpreted with a modern take, are applied to clean and contemporary silhouettes.

Whilst the choice of high quality materials lifted from the male wardrobe, are transformed following the lines of the female body, and highlight the Made in Italy approach, in which perfection, harmonious shapes and meticulous pattern-making form the key elements of the brand.

INSPIRATION

FRANCESCO MURANO EXPLORES THE INTROSPECTIVE HARMONY OF THE OPPOSITES OF THE HUMAN SOUL:

Apollonian and Dionysian, albeit in antithesis, find a new and contemporary dimension made up of contrast and balance. A coherent complementarity is observed through an aesthetic deriving from the world of classical art and baroque sculpture: on the one hand the rigor and the beautiful ideal of Greek statuary, on the other the drama and dynamism of the masterpieces of the seventeenth century.

The color palette of Francesco Murano is made up of neutral and pastel colors, while natural fabrics and premium fibers such as fresh wool which, together with cotton satin and taffeta, give character and structure to the garments. The precision and tailoring of the cuts are completed by the use of drapery, following the ancient sartorial technique of moulage that embodies a highly intuitive approach. The combination of both procedures in a single garment thus creates in a rigid and fluid silhouette.

Spotted by a notable fashion stylist, elements from this debut collection were successively chosen by Beyoncé for the video "SPIRIT" (an excerpt from the live action remake of "The Lion King") and became part of the wardrobe of the pop star who also wore Francesco Murano for the annual pre-Grammys Roc Nation party. Subsequently other celebrities from the caliber of Cardi-B, Kali Uchis and Miss Fame have chosen Francesco Murano
