About Me

Hi, Im Francesca a graduate from Milan.

I’m Francesca Spatola and I’m 22 years old, I’m Sicilian, I come from a small town near Catania. My passion for fashion began from when I was a child. I spent my childhood among clothes because my mom has a boutique. At the age of 18 I left for Milan. I’ve just graduated from the IED (Istitute European Design).

During my studies I became particularly interested in the world of footwear. I like the way different materials lay on top of each other and create an innovative design. During the years I have developed a contrasting aesthetics by combining tradition and innovation. I like to give new life to the accessories of the past, covering them with innovative and sustainable materials, renewing them from my point of view.

INSPIRATION

The union of two entities is at the heart of the SEHNSUCHT project.

Innovation is the key for reading the collection, traditional accessories taken from the 60’s and 70’s have been reconsidered in all the details and coated again with bright and transparent materials in contrast with high quality leathers typical of Italian leather goods.

The focus of the entire collection is the use of technology, strongly inserted in every accessory. Features designed for a dynamic woman who lets herself be contaminated by the future world. I was inspired by the work of leather craftsmen who with their hands shape materials generating new forms. I imagined a craftsman of the future that, thanks to technology gives a new functionality to accessories.

The bags have power banks and virtual memories inside of them, to hold in charge their devices and to have with you the data and documents useful for the job all inside of the virtual memory. Others, instead, designed for business trips, can only open through their fingerprints, can also be geo-located and they automatically weigh to fasten the preparation of the luggage. The shoes have lines that recall the 60s and 70s, which are reconsidered with rubber soles and Plexiglass heels. The aim is to give comfort to women’s footwear, although even with a very high heel, thanks to the ergonomic sole. The sole is composed of several internal cushions that will stimulate strategic points for relaxation of the body. In addition, thanks to the CPU inside the heel you can monitor the walk, the vital parameters and the heartbeat, all connected by an application. Finally, all the shoes on the bottom of the sole have LED UVC able to sanitize the entire sole in 10 seconds, they can also be activated by application.
