About Me

Hi, I’m Francesca Cammardella a fashion designer from IUAD, Italy.

I'm a creative fashion designer, who sees the potential of the transformative process in everything, whether related to the fashion world or not. I’m an eclectic person, interested in the use of new technologies as a tool to support the creative process without limiting it. I believe that details make the difference.

Since I was a child, I have always had an innate need to express myself and create. I practiced taekwondo for 12 years, which instilled a lot of discipline in me. After high school, I studied medicine for a year, but I realized I was suppressing my creativity, so I started attending the fashion design course. In my projects, I tell my story, combining artistic intuition with technical rationality to create marketable products. I am fascinated by new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, which I consider valuable tools if used consciously.

INSPIRATION

MY PERSONAL CATARSI

The "CATARSI" collection speaks about my liberation from a complex orthodontic experience, transforming pain into beauty, highlighting the cathartic power of art. The collection displays a dichotomy between the austerity of the prints and the lightness of the tulle, creating a several elegance. The black and white, with metallic details are inspired by orthodontic braces. It features both 3D printed structures and lost wax cast jewelry, balancing innovation and tradition.

"Catarsi" was born while I was observing one of my orthodontic X-rays; I imagined a jacket (look 01) in genuine leather because it relates to my own skin. It is a very personal project that narrates the most physically painful journey of my life, translated into beauty. The name "Catarsi" is inspired by Schopenhauer's concept of the cathartic power of art. For the accessories, I created a balance between innovation and tradition using the lost wax casting technique and 3D printing.
