INSPIRATION

My project explores Constantin Brancusi's art, a Romanian sculptor, and the pioneer of Modernism.

The outcome of this innovative project is a high-end transeasonal and elegant fashion collection of which four outfits are technically produced reflecting Brancusi’s vision, promoting his values and complex concepts. This collection combines sculptural shapes with fluid panels, each outfit being another symbolic statement. From fabrics resembling the materials used for his sculptures to shapes, proportions and textures, this project transposes Brancusi’s universe filtered by me, in fashion creations.

‘‘To Brancusi...” is a new chapter in my journey and dedication to my artistic mentor. This project is a result of thorough research and understanding of Brancusi's symbolism with the help of senior researcher Matei Starcea-Craciun. Apart from this, this collection is proof of pushing both my creative and technical skills to the highest level, aligning with the industry standards.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I designed and technically produced a four-outfit collection dedicated to the sculptor Brancusi.

The chosen fabrics resemble the materials used for Brancusi’s sculptures meeting technical construction criteria such as rigidity for sculptural forms. The pattern-cutting skills meet complex creative techniques like origami and are challenged with the digital Gemini Systems and accurately translated with the help of laser cutting. "I prefer to create these sculptures and make mistakes; rather than not making mistakes and recreate Venus of Milo - because Venus of Milo was created once before and is unbearably old.” C. Brancusi
