About Me

I am a textiles-focused designer driven by craftsmanship.

Through my work, I strive to ignite conversations and evoke emotions, driven by a passion for the transformative capabilities of textiles, and the deep enjoyment of research and experimentation.

As a designer, I enjoy the art of problem-solving, which challenges my current way of thinking and allows for creative opportunities through a tactile and experimental approach. I thrive whilst working hands-on, such as draping with fabric to captivate silhouettes or crafting intricate textile manipulations. The human touch is at the core of my creative process, as I strive to create garments that forge a genuine connection with the wearer, embodying authenticity and personal expression.

INSPIRATION

If Water Was a Fabric…

Immersing in the captivating realm of water, Venice and its power dynamics, my collection explores water's movement and reflective essence.

By envisioning water as a fabric, I aimed to create a multi-sensory experience that transcends visual aesthetics by referencing the sound of water, which is echoed in the button chainmail fabric, among water’s slinky and shiny nature to create a paradox of appearing light while subtly carrying the weight that embraces the body.

DETAIL

Capturing the Weight and Movement of Water in Button Chainmail

In my exploration of water, I sought to capture its weight and fluidity in my button chainmail fabric. I allowed the material to shape and sculpt through draping and manipulation, mimicking how water moves and flows effortlessly. The buttons, connected by jump rings, acted as anchors and conduits, creating a tactile experience that echoed the organic nature of water. The resulting silhouettes embraced the body, capturing the weight and presence of water while maintaining an ethereal lightness. This interplay between structure and fluidity brought forth a unique harmony, allowing the fabric to come alive and evoke a sense of the power held within water depths.
