My main focus for designs is sports and streetwear, with collections looking at both men's and women's fashion. My beliefs work strongly alongside my concepts with a focus on lower-class communities and young people.
I have been studying fashion and textiles for over 5 years and have been able to gain a wide range of technical and design skills that I believe I can use to bring a new light into the fashion world. My designs focus on very small details and have the most accurate technical finishings. Experience in tailoring, sportswear, stretch materials, footwear, womenswear and menswear allows me to create a vast range of collections.
INSPIRATION
During my time at NUA, I found that there is a lack of brands that support their customers as well as represent a good image for the youth of today. My recent collection, Blue Ice, looks at supporting communities by providing activities and strong role models as well as a clothing brand that cares about their image. This collection is also aimed to be more gender-neutral and have a clothing range that focuses on sizes and shapes rather than genders.
Silhouettes have been inspired by sports and streetwear from 90s hip-hop, as well as how this fashion has influenced young people’s clothing choices today. Soft and stretchy fabrics were used throughout including various jerseys and velour. The fabrics were heavily influenced by sportswear and loungewear, with a big focus on comfort.
DETAIL
The print throughout the collection is inspired by children’s aspirations and the innocence of youth. As well as branding and logos for my own brand ‘Adeline’. The idea behind the print comes from the question of ‘what do you want to be when you go up?’. To me, the answers to this are what guide us through our whole lives and what shapes us to be who we are. Often young people get swayed by toxic media and society and lead down routes including gang culture and criminal activity. The purpose of my brand is to help children follow their dreams and avoid them from leading these bad routes.
