Hi, I'm Eleonora Mazzanti a graduate from Istituto Modartech
I was inspired by my mother's personal experience. In the 90s he decided to join the fire brigade, an environment considered extremely masculine and not suitable for women, whose role, even today, is considered only relegated to household chores and the role of wife / mother. A collection that has a message of fighting the gender gap and gender stereotypes.
My message is: to represent a woman who is free to choose her future and her role in society without prejudice. A free society where each of us can best express himself and his passions. Starting from a mix of more feminine elements and elements attributable to the clothing of the firefighters, to represent the duality of women.
INSPIRATION
MY INITIAL IDEA STARTED FROM MY MOTHER EXPERIENCE AS FIREFIGHTER
Even today, prejudices and stereotypes relating to women are still very present and prevent them from representing themselves at 100%, in lower paid jobs than men. Suffice it to say that for 19% of the Italian population it is the woman who manages the housework entirely and a very high % of women are forced to give up their jobs to devote themselves entirely to managing the house and family.
In the first place I drew inspiration from the clothes of the firefighters and from household elements, mixing them together and creating something feminine and functional. Secondly: I have inserted more feminine fabrics, transparencies and reflective fabrics, iridescent coated fabrics that recall the high visibility bands of firefighters' uniforms. As accessories we find bags inspired by firefighters' helmets and cooking pots, but also technical backpacks made with more feminine fabrics.
