About Me

Hi, I'm Darcie O’Connor a student from Salford University.

I've always had an interest in nature. Nature being plants or animals. There is something so beautiful and captivating about it. Something that surrounds us and always has but everyone seems to ignore it.

I enjoy seeing the world pass by as I try to catch up with it. Sometimes you never know where the finish line is and as day and night comes with the Earth's orbit, we sometimes get even further away or we take the wrong path from the fork in the road if you continue working and striving for what you want, as long as you don't give up and have a clear understanding of where you want to go. You should get there. I live my life thinking this, I may get stressed or rushed but I know what I want and what I aspire to be so someday I will get there.

INSPIRATION

Little butterfly

The inspiration image is titled "Little butterfly" this image was the start of my design process for "Illusion" I grew interested in the mirrored patterns on the wings of the butterfly loving the way the panels of colour were separated by the thin black lines creating intricate designs. I then went onto looking at other butterflies and moths seeking more vibrance. “Little butterfly” gave me a lot of inspiration for panelling and assisted in the idea of panel dresses or ways to separate colour.
