About Me

GRADUATED STUDENT FROM CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL OF ARTS

I was inspired by a documentary movie related to the social media effect on Generation Z, which also has a message about beauty standard - using PVC Mirror Fabric to represent the distortion image given by the fabric and recycling scrap fabrics from it to explore more the theme.

The message that I wanted to give is - a real issue of social media's effect on mental health, causing negative problematic social, political, and cultural consequences, especially in young people, especially in their adolescence.

INSPIRATION

MINE INSPIRATION IDEA STARTED WITH A DOCUMENTARY MOVIE.

When pandemic started I was alone at home without anyone and watching the new movie launched online, a documentary movie talking about what social media could do to make people addicted to it - I was feeling overwhelmed with the possible reality of what social media can do in peoples lives - So I wanted to create a distorted image not beautiful but also to make it a awareness in people.

In this case, I wanted to create awareness in response to our society’s unrealistic beauty standards, especially within social media the CREATURÉ collection is conceptual explorations. Inspiring myself by the reflective mirroring to distort the image, 90’s streetwear and innovative gathering techniques to distort the body itself.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Using scraps from PVC mirroring fabric to do parts of the collection

Therefore using scraps from a PVC fabric can reduce the waste that goes to trash is less than normal and with that the scraps can be used, representing a shattered mirror giving a negative response to the beauty "reflected" in the scraps.

"I dont like standard beauty. There is no beauty without strangeness."- Karl Lagerfeld
